Advantek Networks Router Hardware Connection Setup

So, if you have bought a new router then you will have to follow the below basic hardware connection setup, which will enable the router perfectly for the internal and software configuration later on.

  • Ethernet Cable: Main ethernet cable from your Broadband service provider box should be connected to the router
  • Power Supply: A power source should be connected to the router, to the power supply it

  • First, we will have to open the Default IP address for Advantek Networks, which is 192.168.62.1
  • You can open any of the browsers from your computer or laptop and enter the password 192.168.62.1
  • The next step will be to enter the username and password which will be asked via a popup login
  • Here, you have to enter the username as “admin” and password as “1234”, then click the enter button

Note: All the routers and different router models from Advantek Networks have the same Default IP address, username and also the password.

  • We have to select Wireless option from top menu and under this section, follow the below mentioned settings
    • Band: 2.4 GHz (B+G)
    • Mode: AP
    • Network Type: Select any
    • SSID: 902.11gn AP

  • Once you have made the necessary changes, click on “Apply Changes” button which will now enable the Wi-Fi settings on the Advantek Networks router.

Next, go to the security section under Wireless where you will find an option to enter the password. Here enters a password which should be a minimum of 8 characters long and save the password by clicking on Apply changes button at the bottom.

As we all know that different router brands have different IP addresses to access the admin panel and in the same way, Fortinet router also has a separate Internal address IP which user can use. Below we will be discussing the steps involving to configure the router from the first.

  • We have to first open the Fortinet Router IP address which is 192.168.1.99 into the address bar of the browser which you’ve selected from any of your laptop or computer
  • Now it will automatically ask you to enter the login details which will be the username and the password for the login.

  • The primary thing would be to click on the Network option under the System and under this, you will have to make the below settings for the wireless connection to start working.
    • Under Wireless you have to select the “DNS Settings” option and then fill the below settings
    • DNS Servers: This should be “Use FortiGuard Servers” – Required for security
    • Primary and Secondary DNS will be automatically filled
    • Once the settings are done, go to security option and then enter a password for the router access under the “Security Profiles” and click on the Apply button for the settings to be saved

  • Go to the Basic Features settings under the Features section and then make the below said settings.
    • Advanced Routing – This should be Off
      • IPv6 – This should be Off
      • VPN – This should be ON
      • WAN Opt. & Cache – This should be On
      • WiFi Controller – This should be On

  • When it comes to the security features, you should make sure that all the settings below are turned On and then click on the Apply button for the settings to be saved.

So, in this guide we will be using AdtranNetvanta 2100 model, first, we will make the hardware connections which are connecting the Main ethernet cable to the router. Next, we have to connect a power source supply to the router and then attach an ethernet cable from router Port A to a computer or laptop ethernet port for software configuration.

  • Step 1: The primary step is to open the web browser from your computer or laptop and then enter the default IP address which is 192.168.0.1
  • Step 2: Once we have entered the IP address into the browser, we will now have to enter the default username and password. So, the Username and Password are the same for all the routers which are “Admin” and “none“

  • Step 3: Now we are logged into the Adtran Netvanta 2100 GUI configuration panel, where we have to click on “AC/AP Discovery” option under the Wireless section to enable the Wi-Fi settings

  • Step 4: Once you have clicked on it, you will have to make the settings like this and click on “Netvanta UC Installation Wizard” which will install a program to enable the Wi-Fi for the first time and then ask you to also set a password along with it
  • Step 5: While selecting a password, make sure to make it 8 characters long and you will also have to rename the router from the same page which you can do by editing it with a preferred name.
  • Step 6: If you think that the router is not able to provide the full speed of the Internet, then you will have to click on the “Clear CPU Max Load” option which will enable free movement of the Internet at high speed without restrictions.
